Creature Feature! Hand-building Clay Creatures with Tatyana

Who doesn’t want a tiny ceramic anteater sitting on their desk as a coworker?

Long nose. Tiny ears. Four questionable little legs. Maybe a dramatic tail.

And who gets to decide what an anteater is, anyway?

Yours might be elegant and anatomically convincing. It might be round, striped, slightly crooked, or slowly evolve into a creature that has never existed before.

That’s the fun of clay: there is no right or wrong. You start with an anteater. Your hands decide what happens next.

Turn a simple lump of clay into a creature full of personality! In this playful two-hour workshop, you’ll sculpt alongside a live demo, pinching, pulling, and shaping the clay into legs, a neck, a head, and any ears, tails, or curious features your creature might grow along the way. Once your little clay companion has taken shape, we’ll finish with a 30-minute underglaze painting session, adding colorful patterns, markings, and details to bring it fully to life. No experience needed—just bring your imagination.
